Microelemental homeostasis correction of and oxidative stress in patients with acute intestinal obstruction

Abstract: It was established that metalloenzymes take an active part in the formation of endotoxemia in people with acute small bowel obstruction. Also, in patients as a result of an imbalance between oxidant and antioxidant systems, accumulated a significant amount of lipid peroxidation products, along with it a decrease activity of enzymes of antioxidant system. reamberin application in complex treatment of acute small bowel obstruction provided the reduction in the time correction of oxidative stress by preventing th… Show more

“…The main source of endotoxicosis in inflammatory processes of the abdominal cavity is the intestine. Violation of the barrier function of the intestinal wall leads to endotoxemia, which in the absence of adequate treatment is progressive in nature [1][2][3].…”

“…With the breakthrough of the barrier function of the intestine, the flow of toxins and n -dentified toxic substances into the blood increases, which causes destabilization of cell membranes of tissues and organs, enhances the breakdown of proteins with the release of tissue toxins and biologically active amines, molecules, and molecules forming the general status of intensification of endotoxicosis. In the further development of pathological changes, the following factors are crucial: the gradual depletion of the detoxification potential of the liver, translocation of the intestinal microflora and its acquisition of pathogenic properties, the growth of the total mass of toxic products in internal environments, the development of systemic microcirculatory disorders, developmental disorders, progression of peritonitis (another source of intoxication) [2,[4][5][6].…”

“…Thus, a «vicious circle» arises -increasing endogenous intoxication (EI) causes a number of changes leading to inhibition of the immune system, which, in turn, contributes to the progression of the systemic inflammatory response, the increase in intoxication, the development of MOF. In some patients, due to genetic determination or reactivity altered by environmental factors, the formation of a stable anti-inflammatory reaction immediately occurs [3,6,7,8].…”

“…With widespread peritonitis as a result of dysfunction of the liver, kidneys, intestines, new factors of harmful effects appear. Their role is played by intermediate and final products of normal metabolism in high concentrations (lactate, urea, creatinine, bilirubin); components and effectors of regulatory systems accumulated in pathological concentrations (kallikrein-kinin, coagulation, fibrinolytic, lipid peroxidation, neurotransmitters); products of «perverted» metabolism (aldehydes, ketones, higher alcohols), substances of intestinal origin such as indole, skatol, putrescine [5,7,10].…”
