MicroRNA-31 Can Positively Regulate the Proliferation, Differentiation and Migration of Keratinocytes

Abstract: In the past decades, the key roles of most microRNA in dermatosis and skin development have been explored one after another. Among them, microRNA-31 (miR-31) has a prominent role in the regulation of keratinocytes. Numerous studies show that miR-31 can positively regulate the proliferation, differentiation and cell activity of keratinocytes via regulating the NF-κB, RAS/MAPK, Notch signaling pathways, and some cytokines. At present, the interaction between miR-31 and the NF-κB signaling pathway in keratinocyte… Show more

“…The level of circulating EVs expressing IL-17A was higher in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis than in those with mild psoriasis ( Jacquin-Porretaz et al, 2019 ). In comparison to healthy donors (HD), miRNAs of EVs from psoriasis patients showed an altered expression ( Pasquali et al, 2020 ; Wang et al, 2020 ).…”

“…In addition, it being able to improve the inflammatory process occurring during healing due to the release of inflammatory cytokines [33,34]. The miR-31 family is also closely related to the wound healing process, these miRNAs can regulate keratinocytes proliferation, differentiation, and migration through the regulation of the signaling pathways NF-κB, RAS/MAPK, Notch, and cytokines [35,36]. The miR-31-5p was found with expression decreased on day 1 and increased on day 5.…”

“…The small copies of microRNA-31 can be attempted to explain the reciprocal dysregulation of the transcription factors in patients with CIDP. Several studies demonstrate that miR-31 can positively regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and activity by regulating NF- κ B, RAS/MAPK, Notch, and some cytokine signalling pathways [ 12 , 14 , 27 , 28 ]. The increased miRNA-31 copies in our patients treated with IVIg may be due to the mechanism of action of IVIg.…”
