“…In this study, all markers had PIC higher than 0.5, showing high level of polymorphism in all the analyzed microsatellite loci. The PIC values were similar as reported by CLEMENTINO et al (2010) in one study with Brazilian free-range chickens, which had used six of the same markers used in this research. Likewise, FONTEQUE et al (2014) found the PIC values similar of these, using, among others, the same microsatellites loci of this research in Brazilian (blue-egg Caipira) chickens.…”

“…CLEMENTINO et al (2010) andFONTEQUE et al (2014) found an average number of 9.6 and 12.4 alleles per locus, respectively, in studies with microsatellites in free range chickens from Brazil. Lower values than the results found in this study were also described by AL-QAMASHOUI et al (2014) - 8.4 (VANHALA et al, 1998;KYSER et al, 2000;ZHANG et al, 2002;HILLEL et al, 2003;TADANO et al, 2007;BERTHOULY et al, 2008;ROSÁRIO et al, 2009;CHATTERJEE et al, 2010;TADANO et al, 2012;WILKINSON et al, 2012).…”

“…This significant variation is evident when comparing these data with those found for the same loci in other works. Clementino (2010) and Clementino et al (2010) examined 92 samples from four populations of Caipira chickens (called for them of Brazilian chicken ecotypes) from northeast region of Brazil with ten loci of microsatellites, and encountered 14-16 alleles to locus LEI0192, 8-12 alleles to LEI0221, 9-13 alleles to LEI0217, and 9-10 alleles to LEI0234, in populations with smaller and larger number of alleles respectively. Nasiri et al (2007) reported one locus (MCW0216) monomorphic and other (ADL0278) with only three alleles in a population of Iranian native chicken.…”

“…Dos marcadores disponíveis, os microssatélites, sequências de DNA curtas repetidas em tandem, são os mais usados devido ao grande volume de informações fornecidas (Clementino et al, 2010). No entanto, o desenvolvimento desses marcadores é de alto custo e a técnica requer o emprego de métodos mais avançados da biologia (Francisco et al, 2013).…”
