Abstract:The strain dependence of the Johari−Goldstein (JG)-β relaxation time, as well as the directional dependence, was systematically investigated for stretched cross-linked polybutadiene using time-domain interferometry. We found that the strain dependence of the JG-β relaxation time is directionally dependent, contrary to expectation: the relaxation time of the JG-β motion, whose displacement is perpendicular to the stretching direction, decreases with stretching, whereas the relaxation time of the parallel JG-β m… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
