Microstructure and mechanical property of titanium steel by vacuum roll-cladding with interlayer

Abstract: The titanium clad steel plates were prepared by vacuum roll-cladding (VRC) in three ways: without interlayer, with Fe interlayer and Ni interlayer. With the increase in temperature, the TiC layer becomes thicker and the metal compounds increase at the interface during VRC without interlayer. The bonding strength is 266 MPa at 900°C.
