Microwave Synthesize Karaya Gum-Cu, Ni Nanoparticles Based Bionanocomposite as an Adsorbent for Malachite Green Dye: Kinetics and Thermodynamics

Abstract: A novel approach was used to synthesize karaya gum-Cu, Ni nanoparticles based bionanocomposite by microwave irradiation method. Synthesized bionanocomposite was characterized by different techniques like Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Field Emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HR-TEM), and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Analysis (EDX). The optimized condition for Karaya Gum-Cu-Ni–Bionanocomposite synthesis was the am… Show more

“…The Langmuir model assumed that the adsorption occurs in the formation of monolayer adsorbate in a specific area adsorbent. In contrast, the Freundlich model assumed that adsorption occurs via the adsorbate's multilayer formation to the adsorbent's surface [57]. Table 3 shows the isotherm analysis of this work.…”

“…where, q e refers to the amount of dye adsorbed, Ce corresponds to the equilibrium concentration of MR in solution, k f refers to the Freundlich constant, and 1/n refers to the adsorption capacity. The values of k f and n can be determined from the intercept and slope (Wang et al, 2018;Saruchi et al, 2022). The correlation coefficient was best fitted in the Freundlich adsorption isotherm.…”

“…However, the pollution in the process of dyeing fabrics with dyes is inevitable, and appropriate methods need to be adopted for further treatment, such as precipitation, adsorption, ion exchanger, membrane filtration. [17][18][19][20] Compared with dyes, photonic crystals show excellent material diversity, chemical stability, and environmental friendliness, and they can further broaden the sources of fabric to be dyed. Moreover, utilizing photonic crystals to dye fabrics can endow them with not only iridescent or non-iridescent structural color, but also additional functions, such as responsiveness and hydrophobicity.…”
