However, the previous research on primitive zygentomid has indicated the sole involvement of yolk cells (energids) in the process of midgut epithelium development (Rost et al, 2005).Yet the most current studies have shown, that the regeneration in two closely related species Lepisma saccharina and Thermobia domestica proceeds in a different manner (Rost, 2006b).
