Migrate or not? Exploring virtual machine migration in roadside cloudlet‐based vehicular cloud

Abstract: SUMMARYVehicle Ad-Hoc Networks (VANET) enable all components in intelligent transportation systems to be connected so as to improve transport safety, relieve traffic congestion, reduce air pollution, and enhance driving comfort. The vision of all vehicles connected poses a significant challenge to the collection, storage, and analysis of big traffic-related data. Vehicular cloud computing, which incorporates cloud computing into vehicular networks, emerges as a promising solution. Different from conventional c… Show more

“…The architecture is defined using VuC, VCC, and HVC. The summary and comparative assessment attest that M-EVMVC [30] has more viable architecture than other proposed architectures, when related to the proposed CC-V layered architecture, CC-V elements, better algorithm with complexity analysis, implementation proof with wide range of performance metrics …”

“…Yao et al [7] study a VM migration problem with the goal of minimizing the total network cost, by making the decisions on which VM should be migrated and where the VM shall be migrated. They further formulate an optimization for the static off-line VM placement problem and then propose a heuristic algorithm with polynomial time to solve the optimization.…”

“…To prevent major disasters and losses caused by water pollution, using sensor network technology in urban water supply pipe network to real‐time security monitors the water distribution system. In this system, the water quality sensors installed in key gateways can real‐time monitor the pursuit of the goal . However, when pollution event occurs, knowing how to determine the characteristics of pollution sources based on the information collected by the water quality sensors and predict the position of the pollutants, injection time, injection time, and quality of information is a challenging work.…”
