Abstract-The accelerating progress of network speed, reliability and security creates an increasing demand to move software and services from being stored and processed locally on users' machines to being managed by third parties that are accessible through the network. This has created the need to develop new software development methods and software architectural styles that meet these new demands. One such example in software architectural design is the recent emergence of the microservices architecture to address the maintenance and scalability demands of online service providers. As microservice architecture is a new research area, the need for a systematic mapping study is crucial in order to summarise the progress so far and identify the gaps and requirements for future studies. In this paper we present a systematic mapping study of microservices architectures and their implementation. Our study focuses on identifying architectural challenges, the architectural diagrams/views and quality attributes related to microsevice systems.

The PAPAyA platform has been designed to ingest, store and process in silico large genomics datasets using analysis algorithms based on pre-defined knowledge databases with the goal to offer personalized therapy guidance to physicians in particular for cancers and infectious diseases. This new highly scalable, secure and extensible framework is deployed on a cloud-based digital health platform that provides generic provisioning and hosting services, identity and access management, workflow orchestration, device cloud capabilities, notifications, scheduling, logging, auditing, metering as well as specific patient demographic, clinical and wellness data services that can be combined with the genomics analytics results.

Triple Aim for connected care is about improving patient experience, improving population health, and lowering cost of care. One of the key challenges to operationalizing Triple Aim is our ability to measure improvements at all levels of the health care ecosystem especially with respect to connected care. With a lack of interoperability between stakeholders in the health care system, our ability to measure quality of care goals is limited. Cloud computing offers the potential to improve data sharing and interoperability, thereby providing a good framework for operationalizing Triple Aim. In this paper, we evaluate our systematic framework for performance management of community care services based on a successful implementation for a large urban health region in support of Triple Aim. Three critical roadblocks to interoperability in a cloud computing context are identified (infrastructure, common data model, and a compliance framework), and alternative approaches to addressing them are evaluated and discussed.
