Mikro‐bestimmung von Isopropylidengruppen. Über die Konstitution der Dehydro‐geraniumsäuren

Abstract: 193211K u h n , Rot h. 1285 R i c h a r d K u h n und H u b e r t R o t h : Mikro-bestimmung von Isopropylidengruppen. Ober die Konstitution der Dehydro-geraniumsiiuren. [Aus d. Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institut fiir Med. Forschung, Heidelberg, Institut fur Chemie.] Show more

“…Acetone can be completely and easily distilled from the colloid solutions and estimated readily by the iodoform reaction with excess of a standard iodine solution and subsequent titration with thiosulphate [Kuhn & Roth, 1932].…”

“…Acids have been separated by fractional extraction techniques (394). Special techniques have been developed for the quantitative determinations of formaldehyde (1, 55,83,212,237,319,332,349,426,428,499), acetone (46,359,536), and other simple aldehydes and ketones (300), but the precision of the methods is not great.…”

“…Kuhn and Roth (99), in 1932, estimated quantitatively on a micro scale the acetone formed in the ozonization of a number of substances containing the isopropylidene group, and found it to vary from 60 to 90 per cent of the theoretical value. In particular, the crystalline acid dehydrogeranic acid (LXVII or LXVIII) was studied, and here, in agreement with earlier observations (29), both acetone and formaldehyde were obtained, the yield of acetone amounting to 60 per cent of the theoretical value.…”
