MIL-91(Ti), a small pore metal–organic framework which fulfils several criteria: an upscaled green synthesis, excellent water stability, high CO2selectivity and fast CO2transport

Abstract: MIL-91(Ti) is shown to be one of the very few MOFs of real interest for CO2 capture.

“…Remarkably, high adsorption selectivity up to 200 at low pressure was observed for the CO 2 /N 2 = 15:85 mixture. It decreases along the increase of the pressure and eventually reaches a plateau value about 60, which is significantly higher than that most of the reported UiO‐66(Zr) type MOFs with different functional groups . For the CO 2 /N 2 = 50:50 mixture, similar selectivity vs. pressure profile was noticed.…”

“…[ be therefore based on ac ooperative thermodynamics of guest uptake in MOFs;t his thermodynamics however is still to be formulated. As as tep towards understanding of cooperative phenomena, here we examinew ith in situ diffraction experiment two nanoporous frameworks, g-Mg(BH 4 ) 2 [15] and MIL-91(Ti) (MIL for Materials of the Institute Lavoisier), [16,17] with different levelso f structuralf lexibility and cooperativity of guest adsorption. We parameterize cooperative response with am ean field Gorsky-Bragg-Williams (GBW) approachf or the lattice-gas Ising model.…”
