Millimetre‐wave slotted array antenna based on double‐layer substrate integrated waveguide

Abstract: In this study, a millimetre-wave slotted array antenna based on double-layer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed. The radiating array and feeding network are arranged on different substrate layers with a normal printed circuit board process. The design procedure of radiating elements based on array parameters extraction is introduced. A broadband T-junction and tilted coupling slots are used for power division in feeding network. A broadband right-angle transition between SIW and standard rectangu… Show more

“…When the frequency increases to millimeter-wave band, the microstrip antenna suffers from high dielectric loss and leakage loss which result in a low radiation efficiency [1][2][3]. e substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna is proposed for Ka-band and W-band applications [4][5][6][7][8][9]. e dielectric loss of the SIW antenna is acceptable at Ka-band [5].…”

“…Accurate dimension should be maintained among the feeding layer and antenna. Substrate integrated wave guide is another feeding technique for single radiators [4].Single polarization is done by using first technique and second technique gives the information about the spacing between the surfaces. Grid antennas are the printed with substrate on one side and ground plane on other side [5].The sidelobes of antenna array should be less than -13.5db.Feeding system consists microstrip feed lines, carefully adjusted for each and every element with a goal of analysing dolphchebychev distribution [6].The proposed antenna is dual polarized antenna in section II.…”

“…The coveted radiation conduct can be accomplished through by making the arrangement among reception apparatuses and encouraging layer to a great degree exact. The other conceivable nourishing system for single radiators is substrate-coordinated waveguides (SIWs) with transmitting spaces [6] a further radio wire cluster approach make utilization of lattice reception apparatuses [8], which are imprinted on one side of the substrate. The opposite side is utilized as a ground plane.…”
