Mineralogical Characteristics and Isothermal Oxidation Kinetics of Ironsand Pellets

Abstract: An in-depth understanding of mineralogical characteristics and the oxidation behaviors of ironsand is of great significance to make the best of ironsand and develop Ti-containing pellets. This paper quantitatively characterized the mineralogical characteristics of the ironsand from East Java in Indonesia through X-ray diffraction (XRD-Rietveld) and scanning electron microscope (SEM-EDS). The results indicated that the mineral composition of the ironsand was magnetite (22.7%), titanomagnetite (40.9%), enstatite… Show more

“…The microstructures of preheated and roasted spheres were characterized by optical microscopy (OPTON, China) and scanning electron microscopy (JEOL, Japan) 17). The commercial thermochemical software (FactSage) was chosen as a computational tool to further verify the evolution of the mineral phase during the consolidation of high-silica fluxed pellets [17].…”

“…In the formula, G(α) is the integral form of the reaction mechanism function. Using the model-fitting method, G(α) is linearly fitted to the reaction time t, and the G(α) with the best linear correlation is the mechanism function of the reaction in this study [15,[28][29][30]. Table 10 lists the commonly used kinetic mechanism functions [31][32][33][34].…”
