Minimal flux Minkowski classification

Abstract: We classify Minkowski 4 solutions in type IIA supergravity, with N = 2 supersymmetry and an SU(2) R-symmetry of a certain type. Many subcases can be reduced to relatively simple PDEs, among which we recover various intersecting brane systems, and AdS d solutions, d = 5, 6, 7, and in particular the recently found general massive AdS 7 solutions. Imposing compactness of the internal six-manifold we obtain promising solutions with localized D-branes and O-planes.

“…These backgrounds were shown to arise as near horizon geometries of D6-NS5-D8 brane intersections [51,52] (see also [50,53] for previous hints), from which 6d linear quivers with 8 supercharges can be constructed [44,45]. In these quivers anomaly cancelation implies that for every gauge group the number of flavours must double the number of gauge multiplets, N f = 2N c [53].…”

“…We identify ξ + = ξ in the main text, and one has in general that both ξ and σ 3 ξ transform in the same fashion under the SU(2) global symmetry on S 2 . The bi spinors that follow from ξ, under the assumption they have unit norm, are [41], ξ ⊗ ξ † = 1 2 (1 + k 3 − iy 3 vol(S 2 )), ξ ⊗ ξ c † = − 1 2 (k 1 + ik 2 − i(y 1 + iy 2 )vol(S 2 )),…”

“…A possible interpretation of these vacua as near-horizon limits of the brane configurations first appeared in [27]. (See also [52,[57][58][59][60] for more general Ansatze of localized intersecting brane metrics with AdS 7 near-horizon.) Bringing all NS5's on top of each other (the origin of the tensor branch, where the SCFT sits), we can imagine zooming in close to the NS5-D6 intersection, say at x 6 = 0.…”
