Minimally Invasive Surgery for Axillary Osmidrosis: Combined Operation with CO2 Laser and Subcutaneous Tissue Remover

Abstract: A combined technique using a CO2 laser and subcutaneous tissue remover has the advantages of a high success rate, low complication rate, no admission treatment, less scarring, and rapid recovery. This combined approach should become the preferred technique for the treatment of axillary osmidrosis.

“…Various mechanisms can be involved, including blockade of cholinergic stimulation and inhibition of substance P release. 72,73 Although apocrine glands are less responsive to cholinergic stimulation compared with eccrine glands, cholinergic nerve fibers have been shown around their secretory coils but with a lower density of innervation. 74 Treatment results usually persist for 4 to 5 months, and the course of treatment can be continued for as long as needed.…”

“…Somit fallen auch alte Techniken der offenen Adenektomie nach großflä-chiger Inzision wie die Skoog-Prozedur hierunter [32]. In den letzten Jahren wurde eine Vielzahl von Verfahren in der Literatur beschrieben, die teils mit hohem apparativem Aufwand verbunden sind [3,18,20].
