“…Although neutralizing resistance and waning neutralizing‐antibody titers of vaccination reduced vaccine‐induced immune protection, cellular responses induced by SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccines still appear to protect against severe disease 4 . Most of the patients' immunity against COVID‐19 in this study was acquired from effective vaccination instead of previous natural infection owing to the practical measures and policies adopted by the Macao government since the beginning of the pandemic 14 . There were significantly more patients who received none or incomplete primary series (61.1%) to present with severe to critical diseases than those who have completed primary series (38.9%) from our data ( p < 0.001).…”

“…Some participants reported people gossiping about them, family and friends refusing to visit them at home and even being called names to make them feel ashamed. Others had people call them thinking they were being treated for coronavirus disease at the quarantine facility, and misunderstandings such as these stem from public fears of being infected by people in quarantine (7). Our participants also experienced overt discrimination (enacted stigma) after quarantine leading to feelings of shame, self-blame, loneliness, stress, anger and withdrawal from daily activities (felt stigma).…”

“…We made early upgrades to our port policy to a 14-d quarantine with at least twice RT-PCR tests of novel coronavirus for all people who came from other countries since March (Lio et al, 2020). On the other hand, we had a loose community testing policy, making RT-PCR tests accessible to everyone whenever they requested.…”
