Mining the equine gut metagenome: poorly-characterized taxa associated with cardiovascular fitness in endurance athletes

Abstract: Emerging evidence indicates that the gut microbiome contributes to endurance exercise performance. Still, the extent of its functional and metabolic potential remains unknown.
