Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the control of corruption on FDI inflows in MINT countries (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey). In the study, the effect of the control of corruption on FDI inflows was examined with Westerlund (2007) panel cointegration analysis for the 2002-2019 period, and then the short and long-term coefficients were estimated by applying the MG estimator, error correction model. In the empirical findings, the existence of a long-run cointegration relationship between the control of corruption and FDI inflows has been determined. In the results of the error correction model, it was concluded that the longterm coefficient of the control of corruption was positive and significant at the 10% significance level, while the short-term coefficient was statistically insignificant. In addition, it was determined that the coefficient of error correction term took a value between -1 and 0 and was statistically significant at the 5% significance level. According to the analysis results, increases in the level of controlling corruption positively affect FDI inflows in the long run in MINT countries.
