“…The lack of popular knowledge of him (Brown, 1976; Von Blum, 1998; Wright, 1975) and the importance of his legacy in education (Dunn, 1987; Fernekes, 2004; Harrison and Lampman, 2001; Von Blum, 1998, 1999, 2008) dominate the literature. With the exception of East Berlin (Carmody, 2014) and Peekskill, NY (Rhodes, 2016a), the place-based memory of Paul Robeson has primarily been ignored.
