Mitophagy Regulation in Skeletal Muscle: Effect of Endurance Exercise and Age

Abstract: Mitochondria are essential energy-providing organelles that are required in the maintenance of healthy skeletal muscle. As such, the removal of damaged mitochondria, through mitophagy, is necessary to maintain mitochondrial quality.
