Research shows that girls who identify as bisexual remain peripheral to sexuality research and to many sexual health education programs (Jones & Hillier, 2014;King, 2013;Russell & Seif, 2002). In our study, when girls shared stories about the crushes they had on friends, feeling ostracized by family, affiliations with other queer students, and the pleasure of claiming bisexuality as an identity for themselves, the BBP found that within these varied stories bisexuality offered a placeholder for queer possibilities, a site of teasing and harassment, perhaps, but also and often a source of potential and possibility.…”
