Mixing ratios in67Zn determined by gamma-gamma angular correlations

Abstract: The gamma-gamma angular correlations of the 209. 0-184.6, 494.3-393.6, 494.3-300.2 and 703.6--184.6 keV cascades in 67Zn have been measured. Mixing ratios of the 209.0, 300.2, 393.6 and 703.6 keV transitions are deduced. A spectroscopic study could not confirm the existence of a recently proposed level at 710 keV.

“…[18]. A value of the mixing ratio, (5=0.35_+0.04, reported by Bargholtz et al [20] for the 3/21 ~5/21 transition is larger than the tabulated value and yields B(E2)=230+_40 e2fm 4 which is consistent with B(E2)=240+_20 e z fm ~ from the Coulomb excitation [18]. The CVM values are reproduced from a work by Paar et al [19].…”

“…(The 312-184 keV state, for instance, has a fairly long half-life, TI,* = 1.01 ns [7], which possibly allows a sizeable disalignment of the emitting level.) Mixing ratios for the transitions from the 185 keV and 394 keV states have been recently measured in a y-y angular correlation study in 67Ga(p+) [14]. The established mixing ratios were (the corresponding results of this work are given to the right):…”
