TT¯ deformations as TsT transformations

Abstract: The relationship between T T deformations and the uniform light-cone gauge, first noted in arXiv:1804.01998, provides a powerful generating technique for deformed models. We recall this construction, distinguishing between changes of the gauge frame, which do not affect the theory, and genuine deformations. We investigate the geometric interpretation of the latter and argue that they affect the global features of the geometry before gauge fixing. Exploiting a formal relation between uniform light-cone gauge an… Show more

“…Interestingly, a different relationship between TsT transformations and TT deformations was found in [103]. Therein, a TsT-transformed D + 2 string worldsheet theory was viewed as a non-perturbative TT deformation of a 2d CFT featuring D number of fields and no holographic duality was involved.…”

“…This is a beautiful connection between TT deformations and a field theory which classically possesses a non-linearly realized D = 3 Lorentz symmetry; for other connections between TT and classical string theory, see, for example, [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15].…”

“…First of all, at the leading order, the operator TT is built from the holomorphic and antiholomorphic terms of the stress-energy tensor, while TJ comes from the holomorphic part of the energy-momentum tensor, but also needs a Uð1Þ currentJðzÞ. Consequently, these deformations are irrelevant from the renormalization group (RG) viewpoint with conformal dimensions (2,2) and (2,1), respectively, and many interesting aspects of these transformations have been addressed, for example, [68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76][77].…”
