“…This assumption should be examined in future research. Another interesting finding in this research is teachers' opinions on the contribution of the DIK to students' knowledge about plants are consistent with previous research conducted by Anđić et al (2020) and Stagg and Donkin (2016). The results of these studies indicate that the application of the DIK in biology teaching contributes more than the application of dichotomous printed keys to students' knowledge about plants at higher cognitive levels, which include not only species identification, but distinguishing systematic affiliation and the ability to independently create a dichotomous key for a smaller number of plant species from the student's own environment.…”

“…The results of our research, as well as the abovementioned previous research, could be very useful for developers of educational biological software as well as the publishing houses that publish these materials. Even if the DIK itself does not require the inclusion of sound and animation, according to the opinion of the participants in our research, but also the opinion of students in previous research (Anđić et al, 2020), the inclusion of these elements into the software would contribute to the greater usability of the DIK in primary school education. Another very interesting fact that our research points to is that according to the opinion of teachers, connecting textbooks and DIK increased their effectiveness in teaching.…”

“…Virtual laboratories are safe, simple, and cheap, but they can't replace the process of investigating real phenomena. Research Results have shown that integrating mobile technologies with sound curriculum can contribute to increased student engagement, productivity, technology competency, collaboration, critical thinking and innovation (Anđić et al, 2021;Chientzu et al, 2012;McConnell et al, 2011;Dechane et al, 2013;Mazzella and Testa 2016). S. Dechane, X. Xu and M. Y. Tsoi (2013) conducted a project designed to promote problem solving and critical thinking skills in a general education.…”

“…The work of a teacher in itself is of great value from a humanitarian point of view, since it forms the inner culture of people, their worldview, value guidelines. Pedagogical activity is carried out by people and for people, and this is its main significance and greatest value (Anđić et al, 2021;Yarmakeev, 2013). Acceptance of this point of view implies that a teacher perceives a student as the greatest value, presupposes a respectful attitude towards him, respect, care and all possible help in all aspects related to the educational process.…”
