Mobile authoring in a multiple language learning environment

Abstract: A bstract-Learning across multiple contexts via social and content interactions, using handheld devices consists of a promising field in modern education. The ever increasing mobile population can assist mobile learning which focuses on the mobility of learners and instructors, interacting with portable technologies. In this paper, the implementation of a mobile authoring tool, which is called m-MALL Author, is presented. M MALL Author offers the instructors the possibility of creating and editing the learning… Show more

“…Using this work, the owner/teacher can deliver the content to learners, reflect on the effectiveness of that content and adapt it to better suit the learning needs of students at the time students are interacting with the tutor (Marcus et al 2010). S30 presents a mobile authoring tool that allows instructors to create and administer the domain knowledge model of the existent ITS and namely the domain to be taught and the tests along with the characteristics of students (Troussas et al 2014).…”

“…Most of these works are aiding teachers in defining the domain model of tutors as well as relying on the reasoning and inference capabilities provided by ontologies to effectively use the domain model during tutoring. Four papers (Abbas et al, 2014;Escudero & Fuentes, 2010;Troussas, Alepis, Virvou, & Ieee, 2014;Virvou & Troussas, 2011) are providing some kind of reuse feature in different aspect of ITS authoring such as to reuse domain and content and tutors design. However, none of these papers are targeting the authoring of gamified ITS.…”

“…Correspondingly, collaboration is quite recently used in electronic learning software to help people involved in a common e-learning task achieve goals (Lichtnow et al, 2011). It is believed that humans as social beings have an endogenous tendency to [15] create groups. Many scientists in the area of educational learning support that it would be educationally highly beneficial if these groups could consist of learners that would work complementarily (Dafoulas et al, 2009).…”
