Increasing ownership of mobile phones by children increases pressure on schools to create mobile phone policies. This study investigated parents' and children's co-constructed views of mobile phone use at school. Nine parents and child (aged 10 to 11 years) dyads were interviewed. The data were analysed using Reflexive Thematic Analysis. Generally, parents and children held shared views of the importance of having phones to keep in contact alongside an awareness of the risks. Hearing the children's and parents' co-constructed views and solutions highlight the potential positive impact of their involvement in co-developing school mobile phone policies.

Smartphones have been used widespread, and elementary school-age children are no exception. In using smartphones, they behave riskily causing eye health problems due to the emitted radiation. Children's behavior in using smartphones is estimated to be different between those in rural and urban areas. This study aimed to identify the differences in the potential eye health risks of smartphone use among elementary school-aged children in urban and rural areas. This Analytic Observational Research with Cross-sectional design involved 60 families in Jember Indonesia from an urban elementary school (Muhammadiyah 1 Jember Elementary School) and a rural elementary school (Bintoro 2 Public Elementary School), each with 30 respondents. Inclusion criteria: possessing smartphones, healthy and willing to be a respondent. The variable studied was the potential risk of eye health in the use of smartphones among elementary school-aged children. Data were collected using questionnaires with 7 open-ended questions sent to respondents via the WhatsApp application. Each question was categorized and scored as a potential risk value. The data obtained were analyzed using non-paired T-Test (=0.05). In the group of elementary school children in urban areas, the value of potential health risk was 44.71 and for rural children was 48. There was no significant difference between the two groups (p > 0.05). There is no difference in the risk of eye health in smartphone use between urban and rural primary school-aged children. This research aims to find out how to reduce cases of violence among elementary school students by uncovering solutions and their implementation. Currently, violence among students is rampant in Indonesia. The 2018 Program for International Student Assessment data show that students who report having experienced violence are above the average for OECD member countries. This research method uses a qualitative approach supported by focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with elementary school teachers and principals. The research results obtained nine themes: oppression as a problem, causes, impacts of oppression, institutional, curricular, cultural, religious, family intervention, current challenges, and recommendations. Curricular factor interventions include educational curricula and behavioral principles based on culture and customs. Extracurricular interventions include the application of values and norms. Additional interventions include socializing anti-violence values and norms to inspire students to be more enthusiastic about learning and increasing the role of parents at home. This research found an ideal combination of curricular and extracurricular activities to prevent cases of bullying at school. The curriculum on cultural values, customs, and institutions also determines the components that will help students have good morals and avoid violence inside and outside school.
