Modal wavefront sensor based on binary phase-only multiplexed computer-generated hologram

Abstract: We propose an approach for implementing a modal wavefront sensor using a binary phase-only multiplexed computer-generated hologram (BPMCGH). To simplify the coding and fabricating processes, a model based on tilt plane reference waves and an effective coding scheme for BPMCGH have been developed. The necessary number of subholograms to be recorded or coded is significantly reduced, from two or even more to just one per aberration mode, accordingly. The numerical and experimental demonstration results are prese… Show more

“…The next step in improving holographic methods was the use of computer technology to synthesize holograms [ 17 ]. With the development of computer and digital holography methods, the process of creating holograms became more digitalized, which led to the creation of new elements, the synthesis of which was fully realized in a computer.…”

“…In 2000, Ghebremichael et al applied computer-generated holographic elements to wavefront sensing and corrected the response curve [21][22][23][24][25]. Changhai et al used the plane wave in combination with the Fourier lens for the replacement of spherical waves to improve the efficiency of energy utilization [26][27][28]. In this paper, based-on our previous work, HMWFS is applied to the coherent FSO systems to evaluate the BER performance improvement.…”
