“…The CMA and MMA updates are given by CMA : where (·) * denotes conjugation and ε[z] := (ρ − |z| 2 ). Refer to [3] and [6], respectively, for the complete set of CMA and MMA expressions. We sweep both θ and φ from −90 • to 90 • in steps of 5 • (giving rise to a total of 1369 simulation points) and simulate each point 5 times with independent realization of signal and noise.…”

“…In [5], authors have compared CMA with an independent component analysis (ICA) based algorithm to adaptively demultiplex the polarization. Very recently, in [6], authors have used a variant of CMA, the so-called multimodulus algorithm (MMA), as an adaptive blind demultiplexing solution. The advantage of ICA or MMA (over CMA) is that they not only demultiplex with somewhat higher output-signal-to-noiseratio (SNR) but also restore the orientation of the quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signal without requiring a separate phase-lock loop.…”

“…In [37], authors have compared CMA2-2 with an independent component analysis (ICA) based algorithm to demultiplex the polarization adaptively. Recently in [38][39][40][41][42][43], authors have used MMA2-2 and its variants as a joint adaptive solution for blind demultiplexing and carrier phase recovery in coherent optical system. Afterwards, βMMA (which is an optimized version of MMA2-1) [44] has been employed in coherent optical receiver to demultiplex polarization mode signals adaptively [45].…”
