Mode Suppression of Single-mode Micromachined Fabry-Perot Semiconductor Lasers

Abstract: Single-mode can be achieved on the micromachined F-P semiconductor lasers (MLDs) when the micromachined defects were properly positioned inside the diode cavity. In this work, an analytical expression of the output spectrum from the micromachined F-P diode lasers has been deduced. Based on this expression, a general discussion has been made on the mode-suppression-ratio (MSR) of the MLDs.
