Business Intelligence has become the front of demanding technologies. The large or midsize companies need technology to adapt to changing requirements, to deal with a rich amount of data; to get correct information, to analyze data, and finally to quickly support decision makers. Developing an agile BI application can be defined as a short-delivering software application. This process is based on frequently adapting to changing requirements, involving customer participation, and delivering high-quality applications. Agile teams need a set of reliable metrics to measure their performance at different three levels: functionality, content, and scalability. This paper proposes Goal Question Agility Metrics that can be used in measuring the performance of agile teams working in developing business intelligence applications. Goal Question Agility Metrics is based on the Goal Question Metrics method that was developed by Victor Basili in 1994 [19]. In addition, Goal Question Agility Metrics depend on agile and BI concepts. GQAM proposes a set of metrics that are used to measure performance. The GQAM will be subjected to experiments using a real data set in the future.

Nowadays, the increasing development of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions in organizations, has enabled executives achieve a better understanding of business information for timely and rapid decision-making in a tremendously dynamic market. Although there is an increasing interest in adopting an agile approach to the software development, the emergent need of using agile methodologies in BI solutions is undeniable. This paper discusses the importance of using agile methods in the design and development of data warehouses taking into account the business processes, requirements analysis, and organizational objectives. Thus, we present a case study derived from a real-world business project where the agile methodology Business Event Analysis and Modeling (BEAM) is used to design the data warehouse. The project is based on a billing system with about one million operations on a daily basis with more than 15,000 clients. Finally, the results of this paper include the design of the dimensional model using an agile approach, the construction of the data warehouse through the ETL processes and an interactive dashboard according to the key performance indicators defined by the business decisionmakers.

The use of agile methods according to the success criteria that meet the needs of building projects will increase the efficiency of the construction industry. Most previous research has examined the effects of agility application on one of the success metrics or implementing one single agile approach, and no research has been found to select an agile method based on success criteria in construction. In this research, by creating a relationship between success criteria and agile methods and adopting a systematic approach, the appropriate technique was selected in accordance with the needs of the construction industry. This research aims to select the appropriate agile method based on the success criteria of construction projects. By conducting a thorough literature review, the long list of success criteria and most common agile methods in construction were identified. Then using the Delphi technique, the most critical criteria were extracted. Finally, employing the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, the most appropriate agile technique was determined and ranked. The results show that Scrum is the most adaptable agile method in the construction industry. In addition, the most critical criterion affecting the selection of agile methods was determined to be “completion of the project on time.”
