In recent years, Model Based Predictive Control (MPC), applied to power converters, has been successfully presented as an alternative to traditional control techniques due to its fast dynamic response, ability to incorporate various requirements of control in a cost function, among other attractive characteristics. This work describes different predictive control techniques applied to two-level voltage source inverters. The application of the MPC control technique to a two-level voltage source inverter (2L-VSI) will be analyzed, taking into account the control of current and voltage separately, for three-phase loads, in which the stationary response will be studied and transitory under certain working conditions. The MPC control method is theoretically analyzed and simulated in Matlab/Simulink with different sampling times.
