Model Proposal for the Transition from Traditional Systems to Sustainable Smart Systems

Abstract

The changing living conditions of humanity day by day create new demands. In order to meet these demands, the excessive use of natural resources has left both these resources and nature face to face with increasing pressure. The effects of the decrease in the resources in nature confront humanity with various situations (thinning of the ozone layer, ecological changes, extinction of species, etc.) and threaten humanity. There are certain reasons that prepare the infrastructure of this situation. One of these reasons is undoubtedly the construction sector, where construction activities take place. The construction industry is a multidimensional industry with very different parameters and can accommodate different expectations. The development of technology and the rise in life quality standards have given a great impetus to the construction industry. In parallel with the rapidly increasing number of residences, the use of resources has increased rapidly. At this point, expectations in housing are changing due to increasing ecological problems and existing housing stocks are expected to participate in these changes. In the face of increasing ecological problems, the buildings should be environmentally friendly, efficient and sustainable buildings from the design phase to the implementation phase and even to the maintenance-repair demolition phase. At this point, the aim of the study is to analyze the housing stocks with high environmental impact, unable to respond to the location and period and low efficiency, by examining examples from the world and scanning foreign sources, with the "Model Proposal" prepared in line with the data obtained, without requiring a great economic burden and in order to reduce these building stocks. To put forward an approach that aims to transform it into buildings that are environmentally friendly, that can use the technology of the era, and that can have high efficiency and sustainable qualities without being demolished.
