Modeling and Dynamic Behavior Analysis of Rope‐Guided Traction System with Terminal Tension Acting on Compensating Rope

Abstract: Traction systems are a good choice for high-rise lift systems, especially in deep wells. With increasing lift depth and weight, rope-guided traction systems have become an essential design methodology in the mine lift field. In this paper, a comprehensive mathematical model is established to simulate the dynamical responses of a rope-guided traction system with different terminal tensions acting on the compensating rope. The results and analysis presented in this paper reveal dynamical responses in terms of lo… Show more

“…Flexible cables are light in weight and easy to fold which have been widely employed in diverse engineering applications, such as suspension bridges, 1 cable-pulley systems, 2 aerospace tether transportation system, 3 elevators, 4,5 overhead crane system, 6,7 cable-suspended swinging system, 8 and mine hoisting systems. 9 Hoisting ropes, conveyances, guide sheave, traction sheave, and balance ropes constitute multi-rope friction hoisting system in mine shaft. The upper ends of the balance rope are suspended at the bottom of two conveyances via balance rope suspension rotors (BRSRs).…”

“…In this paper, the adaptive boundary control method is proposed for position regulation and vibration degradation of the system, where adaptation laws and a boundary disturbance observer are formulated to handle system uncertainties. Wang [22] analyzes the traction system of the tensioned compensating rope and traditional suspension compensating rope, and finds out that the longitudinal vibration of the system can restrain to a certain extent by tensioning compensating rope. In [10,12], the vibration control method of lifting system is proposed.…”
