Modeling and Optimization of Soft Start‐Up for Hydroviscous Drive Applied to Scraper Conveyor

Abstract: To improve the soft start-up performance of a scraper conveyor under different working conditions, the mathematical model of the torque for controllable starting transmission was established. The influences of start-up time, load values, and moment of inertia on the soft start-up characteristics of a scraper conveyor are analyzed. Based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the new evaluation system of soft start-up optimization for hydroviscous drive applied to a scraper conveyor is proposed. Through the j… Show more

“…Using the measured shoulder damage depths shown in Table 3 , the main and interaction effects of the cutting parameters on the shoulder damage depth can be discussed, as shown in Figure 6 [ 30 ]. The larger slope of the main effect curve indicates that the single factor feed f or cutting depth a p has a higher effect on the shoulder damage depth.…”

“…The chainring is vulnerable to significant impacts, leading to instability in the chain drive system [5,6]. Furthermore, the stability of the scraper conveyor drive motor control subsystem is also affected by operational factors such as high starting torque, imbalanced load, and frequent stops and starts [7][8][9]. Therefore, investigating the dynamic properties of the chain drive system in various operational scenarios and analyzing the operational principles of the motor in the drive control system hold immense importance and value in enhancing the overall performance of the scraper conveyor and advancing the efficiency of fully mechanized mining transportation.…”

“…To achieve a smooth starting of the AFC, a composite sliding mode control based on the load characteristic of the permanent magnet direct-driven system is presented by Lu et al (2017). A mathematical model of the torque for controllable starting transmission is established by Li et al (2019a) to improve the starting performance of the AFC under different working conditions. A new permanent magnetic eddy current driving system is proposed by Li and Wang (2021) to solve the energy-saving drive problem of the AFC working under bad conditions.…”
