Abstract:BACKGROUND
Gluconic acid production by a glucose oxidase (GOx) and catalase (CAT) system has been proposed. However, the bioprocess optimal design and operation are limited by the lack of kinetic models of GOx involving oxygen as substrate. Herein, the GOx‐CAT system is modeled considering a continuous oxygen supply at a bioreactor lab scale. Initially, experiments and modeling for parameter estimations of KLa and the individual enzymes were conducted. Then, experiments and modeling for the GOx‐CAT system were… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
