The correct organization of transfers in the public transport system allows to reduce the congestion of the route network while maintaining a sufficient level of service quality for users of transport services. When modelling the probability of transfer, it is advisable to separate the probability of a public transport user choosing a trip with a transfer and the probability of making a transfer at a certain stop of the public transport system. The first probability largely depends on the socio-economic characteristics of the passenger and the time parameters of the trip. The probability of transfer at a certain stop is affected by the information provision of the stop and the number of routes. The general configuration of the route network determines the "basic need for a transfer in the network" - the ratio of the number of pairs of transport zones between which there is no direct public transport route to the total number of pairs of transport zones. The simulation carried out in the PTV Visum software environment for Lviv city made it possible to assess the impact of the tariff system on the change in the number of transfers and to determine critical stops and routes of the network. The inclusion of data on the structure of the city's population in the model makes it possible to use mathematical functions of the probability of transfer on the socio-economic characteristics of the passenger (age, gender, income level) when calculating the forecast number of transfers on the network.

For the developed system of public transport, the passengers, as the customers, have a variety of alternatives when choosing the transport mode or even the route for the given mode of public transport. The estimation of the passengers’ preference is the key task for transportation planners for solving the wide range of optimization problems in the field of public transport. A methodology for estimation of the passengers’ preference when choosing the bus line within a public transport system is developed in this paper. The proposed approach is based on the fuzzy-logic mathematical apparatus and uses the surveys’ data to calculate the membership functions defining the passengers’ preference. The case study of the passengers’ survey, held in Talas (Kazakhstan), is used to illustrate the developed methodology.

The public transit accessibility has become an important attribute of social and economic activity of contemporary society. The shift to the sustainable paradigm of the current cities’ development has made public transport the basic mean for population travels execution. The spatial character of the travels in the megapolises supposes its implementation with the transfers. This may result in the travel time increase if the transport hubs are designed or located inefficiently. In some cases, the transport hub locations do not reflect the current demand for public transport services and require the fulfilment of the infrastructure measures. The paper presents the Hub Location Problem (HLP) solving in the case of rapid transit and trolleybus lines interaction. It has been proposed the combined criterion for the HLP solving based on the two-dimensional coordinate system with the estimation of passenger walk turnover. The simulation procedure to estimate the transport hub relocation has been made in the PTV VISUM software in the case of the Industrial District of Kharkiv City (Ukraine). The results of the economic effect available from the transport hub rational location have been estimated.
