Modeling of Boring Mandrel Working Process with Vibration Damper

Abstract: The article considers the issue of modeling the oscillations of a boring mandrel with vibration damper connected to the mandrel with a viscoelastic coupling. A mathematical model of the boring mandrel oscillations, machine support and inertial body (damper) is developed in the form of a differential equations system. The model is made in the form of a four-mass system of connected bodies. The solution to the differential equations system was found using the finite difference method, as well as the operator met… Show more

“…In the future, several field experiments are planned in order to assess the adequacy of the proposed experimental procedure and the use of FEM software. The aim will be to extend the research to various other materials [ 55 ], to other machining methods [ 56 ], to other types of drilling tools, to setting up the experiment [ 57 ] with the ambition of predicting various parameters as a result of drilling [ 58 ], and to optimizing technological conditions [ 59 ]. These may be experiments in the technological laboratory of the Center of Excellence for 5-Axis Machining at the Slovak University of Technology in Trnava.…”

“…Authors [8] solve the Apostol-Euler-Dunkl polynomials with applications to series involving zeros of Bessel functions, and author in [9] describe the growth of polynomials outside of a compact set-The Bernstein-Walsh inequality revisited, and further, the authors [10] deal with the approximation and Entropy Numbers of Embeddings Between Approximation Spaces. Many outputs of approximation techniques are widely used in mechanics, economics, mechatronics, robotics [11,12], instrumentation, technology [13,14,15], assembly [16,17], informatics [18,19] etc. The general disadvantage of all methods is that they have miscalculations.…”

“…TMD analyses are conducted in various fields of science. The study by Peterka et al [9] involved modeling the vibrations of a drilling mandrel with a vibration damper linked with the mandrel via a viscoelastic coupling. A system with three degrees of freedom with an additionally installed TMD was modeled and the efficiency of such a solution demonstrated.…”
