Modeling of Induction Motor Direct Starting with and without Considering Current Displacement in Slot

Abstract: This article presents a mathematical model of three-phase induction motor (IM) with a squirrel cage rotor and investigates its starting modes. Specifically, two scenarios are considered: direct starting of an IM and direct starting considering the current displacement effect in the rotor slots.
