Modeling of the Kinetics of the Gas Hydrates Formation on the Basis of a Stochastic Approach

Abstract: Recently, more attention has been paid to the development of gas hydrate deposits, the use of gas-hydrated technologies, suitable for energy-efficient transportation of natural gas, the separation of gas mixtures, production and storage of cold, desalinating of seawater, etc. Hydrate formation is one of the main processes of gas-hydrate technological installations. In the article a model is proposed that describes the kinetics of the formation of hydrate in disperse systems, which are characteristic for real c… Show more

“…The reason for this will be mix of this water with fresh water released during melting of gas hydrates at places near mud volcanoes. To calculate the amount of new formed hydrates can be used a stochastic model of the kinetic processes of formation gas hydrates [33]. Also, flow rate of methane from gas hydrates will be reduced by about 10% if pipeline will be lay on the sea bed in comparison with pipeline laying in water (Table 3).…”

“…According to these results, the degree of substitution for these thermobaric conditions depends mainly on the concentration of CO 2 in the gas mixture, which is in equilibrium with the hydrate and, thus, has no restrictions on its continuous pumping through the methane hydrate deposit. To calculate the kinetics of the substitution process, you can use a calculation method based on the stochastic model of the hydrate formation process [24] and the macrophysical model of the process [25].…”

“…However, in most cases, such problems are solved within the framework of the Stefan model using the appropriate numerical methods [17]. The statistical processing of experiments and stochastic approaches are also used [18]. Such solutions are less versatile and are not always convenient for practical use in express assessments and research into the influence of various factors on the dissociation process.…”
