Modeling Solar Modules Performance Under Temperature and Solar Radiation of Western Iraq

Abstract: <p>This paper demonstrates a mathematical representation of Photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and hence panels performance. One-diode solar cell model is implemented to simulate the cell and extract the performance indications. The tested PV modules are BP Solar (60 Watt) and Synthesis Power (50 Watts), which are operating in a PV generation system in the University of Anbar - Iraq, College of Applied Sciences. The math model demonstrates Power versus Voltage (P-V) characteristic curves to depict and study v… Show more

“…The problems are apprehended about the way of energy harnessing and utilization. In this point, fast pace revolutionary techniques are invented to solve these problems, renewable energy resources trans-form the passive energy to a clean active energy used to generate electricity with no emissions such as PV systems [1]. Over the past years, interest has been given to the issue of the electric power generation that rely on solar energy, many researches published by researchers and engineers in this important field.…”

“…It comes out evident that the calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data provided by the manufacturer in datasheet. According to previous works presented in literature [10,11,15], the purpose of adjusting the mathematical I-V curve at the three perceptible points (Short Circuit Current, Open Circuit Voltage and Maximum Power) was successfully achieved.…”

“…Nevertheless, generally, these methods require a deepned knowledge of the related PV electronics or physics properties or are based on datasheets providing by the manufacturers, not specific to the considered panel under evaluation [1][2][3][4][5]. By else, these methods are based on relatively complex and specific mathematical models [6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. With a view to considerable time, financial, and material resources savings that we can expect in development of performing new photovoltaic systems, the Design of Experiments (DoE) approach should be adapted to offers a practical upstream way for the study, the modeling and characterizations 1141 of the influence of the pertinent parameters involved in the response of these systems.…”
