“…Therefore, one should be careful in the deployment of these varieties to ensure the effectiveness of control. Some ways to enhance control while deploying resistant varieties can include insecticide spraying, the use of clean cuttings and phytosanitation in conjunction with resistant varieties (Magoyo et al 2019 ). More research is needed in the modelling of molecular mechanisms of plant defence similar to the model developed by (Neofytou et al 2016 ) to better understand how resistance can be used for the management of cassava pests.…”
