Abstract:We investigate the magnetic properties of Fe phthalocyanines (FePc) that are experimentally arranged in quasi-one-dimensional chains when they are grown in thin films or powders. By means of density functional theory calculations, we reproduce the structural parameters found in experiments, and then, we build a generalized Heisenberg magnetic model with single ion anisotropy and calculate its parameters. The results show an anisotropic exchange interaction J between FePc molecules and an easy plane single ion … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
