MODELING THE PHASE DIAGRAMS OF THE Tl9SmTe6–Tl4PbTe3 AND Tl9SmTe6–Tl9BiTe6 SYSTEMS

Abstract: Using the multipurpose genetic algorithm, the analytical models of phase diagrams of the Tl9SmTe6–Tl8Pb2Te6 and Tl9SmTe6–Tl9BiTe6 systems as temperature dependencies of compositions of the equilibrium phases were obtained. The boundaries of the uncertainty band for the liquidus and solidus curves of solid solutions are determined. According to the model of regular solutions of non-molecular compounds, the thermodynamic functions of mixing solid solutions depending on the composition and temperature are determi… Show more

“…Understanding the phase relationships in the respective systems is always useful for developing directed methods for the synthesis of new materials [20][21][22]. Systems characterized by the formation of solid solutions are of particular interest since the material properties can be changed by varying the composition [23][24][25].…”

“…To optimize the functional properties of known compounds, it is expedient to obtain solid solutions based on them. From this point of view, of interest are systems that include compoundsstructural or formula analogs [32][33][34][35][36][37][38].…”

“…For the development of directed methods for the synthesis of new materials, it is very useful to understand the phase relationships in the corresponding systems [27][28][29]. Systems characterized by the formation of solid solutions are of particular interest because the properties of the material can be changed by varying the composition [30][31][32][33]. The constructed phase diagrams of such systems serve as the basis for choosing the composition of melts for growing single crystals of solid solutions of a given composition by the method of directed crystallization.…”
