This research paper proposes a novel grid-connected modular inverter for an integrated bidirectional charging station for residential applications. The system is designed to support the electrical grid by providing buffering services and enhancing the stability of the grid. The proposed system consists of a modular bidirectional inverter which can work as an EV charger. The system can operate in different modes such as charging and discharging the EV battery, storing excess energy from the grid during low-demand periods, and supplying energy back to the grid during high-demand periods. A low-level control strategy based on the droop control technique and feedforward decoupling is developed to manage the power flow between the EV battery, household load and the grid. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated through simulation studies in MATLAB/Simulink software. The results show the system's ability to support the grid during peak demand and boost renewable energy integration. It also acts as a backup power supply during outages, increasing reliability. The experimental validation in a laboratory environment confirms an 87% charging efficiency with 35% SoC, drawing 6.3 kW from the grid. Returning power to the grid achieves a V2G efficiency of around 94%, delivering 8.6 kW AC output and 8.77 kW battery input at a 55% SoC.

The parallel operation of inverters has many benefits, such as modularity and redundancy. However, the parallel connection of inverters produces circulating currents that may result in malfunctions of the system. In this work, a control technique for the elimination of the low-frequency components of the circulating currents in grid-connected inverters is presented. The proposed control structure contains n-1 zero-sequence control loops, with n being the number of inverters connected in parallel. Simulation and experimental results have been carried out on a prototype composed of two 5 kW inverters connected in parallel. The results have been obtained by considering the following mismatches between both inverters: inductance values of the grid filters, unbalance of the delivered power, and the use of different modulation techniques.

An innovative solar monitoring system has been developed. The system aimed at measuring the main parameters and characteristics of solar plants; collecting, diagnosing and processing data. The system communicates with the inverters, electrometers, metrological equipment and additional components of the photovoltaic arrays. The developed and constructed long working system is built on special data collecting technologies. At the generating plants, a special data logger BBbox is installed. The new monitoring system has been used to follow 65 solar plants in the Czech Republic and elsewhere for 175 MWp. As an example, we have selected 13 PV plants in this paper that are at least seven years old. The monitoring system contributes to quality management of plants, and it also provides data for scientific purposes. Production of electricity in the built PV plants reflects the expected values according to internationally used software PVGIS (version 5) during the previous seven years of operation. A comparison of important system parameters clearly shows the new solutions and benefits of the new Solarmon-2.0 monitoring system. Secured communications will increase data protection. A higher frequency of data saving allows higher accuracy of the mathematical models.
