Abstract:In this paper we will demonstrate the possibility of weight optimization of panels under aero-thermal loading in hypersonic flow using functionally graded materials (FGM). The in-plane volume fraction of two constituents (Aluminium and Nickel) is modelled using polynomial distributions.
