Modelling and simulation of a two-axis tracking system

Abstract: In this paper, the modelling and simulation of a two-axis tracking system are introduced. First, dynamic modelling of a two-axis tracking system that is based on the Lagrange-Maxwell dynamic equation is presented. According to the established dynamic equation the coupling of system velocity and the inertia characteristics between the two axes are analysed. Then, the controller of the tracking system is designed using the inverse system method. Based on a certain type two-axis tracking system, the simulation is… Show more

“…Photovoltaic tracking systems receive the energy of the sun's rays directly on the photovoltaic modules and are further divided according to the number of degrees of freedom. The most common are single-axis [7] and dual-axis [8] photovoltaic tracking systems. Single-axis photovoltaic tracking systems follow the trajectories of the sun by moving around one axis, most commonly from east to west, while dual-axis photovoltaic tracking systems can move in two axes, from north to south and from east to west.…”

“…AMESim offers a graphical modeling approach and many libraries of components particularly in hydraulics. Co-simulation method has been extensively adopted in research and simulation of hydraulic steel-belt overwind buffer device [1], braking performance of a vehicle [2], a two-axis tracking system [3], four-wheel-drive hybrid electric vehicle [4], a turbojet fuel system [5], parallel hybrid loader [6], an electric bus with motorized wheels [7], the composite ABS control of vehicles [8], and so on. The co-simulation platform exploits the advantages of different software.…”
