Modelling aspects of system level design

Abstract: In this paper the neccessity for a common modelling approach for heterogeneous systems is discussed. As an ezample for such a modelling techniqrre eztended Predicate/l)-ansition Nets are introdrrced. These nets can combine modelling in a declarative way by means of first order logic with an operational interpretation inheritedfrom Petri Nets.
