Modern trends in the development of technologies are based on the need to conduct experimental studies of the developed equipment in laboratory conditions with the maximum approximation of operating modes to real ones. Such studies are impossible without the development of specialized stands with test automation systems. In modern test equipment systems, devices are often used to create a mechanical load on the shaft of the electric motor under study. As such a device, a system of frequency converter load asynchronous electric motor has been proposed and implemented, which has been tested at the test bench and has proven itself from the best side in comparison with traditional circuits using DC motors.

Synchronous motors are increasingly used in industry, and they need to be made more energy efficient. To do this, it is possible to optimize the rotor of the synchronous motor by changing the design, obtaining the best option due to topological optimization. But the standard design of a synchronous motor is quite complicated for calculations by the finite element method, so it is necessary to simplify it as much as possible. To make all elements the simplest from the geometric point of view (rectangles, straight lines as much as possible, etc.), and to make for calculation not the complete model, but the smallest sector for which topological optimization can be adequately calculated. To do this, it is necessary to calculate the magnetic moment for a standard design, for each step of structural change, and compare these values. If there is a slight discrepancy in the data, it will be necessary to choose the sector correctly and confirm the adequacy of the model by comparison. All these calculations should be performed for the predicted model, which should be obtained after topological optimization.

In the course of work on the project, we have created a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which will be effectively used in the oil industry, or rather 2 models: 15and 55-kW motors. After the tests carried out, the problem with the achievement of the specified value of the efficiency of the engines was clarified, and it was necessary to solve this problem without significantly changing the design. One of the solutions is presented in the article.
