Modelling noise in global Molmer-Sorensen interactions applied to quantum approximate optimization

Abstract: Many-qubit Mølmer-Sørensen (MS) interactions applied to trapped ions offer unique capabilities for quantum information processing, with applications including quantum simulation and the quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA).
