Modelling of a shape memory alloy actuator for feedforward hysteresis compensator considering load fluctuation

Abstract: This paper presents a hysteresis mathematical model of a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator for feedforward hysteresis compensator. The hysteresis model represents the relation between temperature, stress, and electric resistance. Firstly, based on the laws of thermodynamics, the hysteresis model of the SMA actuator is built. Secondly, the inverse of the hysteresis model is obtained to produce a compensator for non‐linear characteristics such as hysteresis and saturation. Thirdly, the parameters of the hysteres… Show more

“…Among the various methods of dye removal, the adsorption of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have recently attracted considerable attention in research; metallurgical frameworks and magnetic nanocomposites have attracted the attention of researchers owing to their industrial applications in adsorption processes 26 . Magnetic particles are placed in the coordination polymers 27 , and magnetic MOFs are obtained from MOFs together with magnetic particles, which can be metal oxides, pure metals, or metal alloys 28 . Owing to the large area of the pore surfaces, design and engineering capability, possibility of separation, and reusability, they have recently been used as efficient adsorbents for dye treatment of textile wastes 29 .…”

“…Among flexible actuators, the Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) have gained growing interest from both scientific and technological communities due to their large force-to-weight ratio, silent movement generation, and capacity for biological/medical applications (biocompatibility), among others [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]. The aforementioned features have led to a wide variety of practical applications and associated theoretical problems, from the synthesis and construction of the forming materials (on micro and macro scale) to the modelling, variable sensing, and control-oriented of their associated final application [ 5 , 6 , 7 ].…”

“…This Special Issue focuses on these topics and selects high‐quality research papers to be published. The first paper presents a hysteresis mathematical model of s shape memory alloy actuator for feedforward hysteresis compensator [1]. The second paper proposes an ensemble model of ordinal classification based on neural network with ordered partitions and Dempster‐Shafer theory [2].…”
